Five Basic Principles of Unity
- One Presence and Power
There is only one Presence and one Power in the universe, God the Good, Omnipotent. Unity does not subscribe to an opposing evil force.
- The Divinity of Humankind
We each have a Divine spark, the Christ, as seed potential within us. No
intermediaries are required. Jesus, the historical man was our Wayshower, and Christ, was the Consciousness which he attained.
- Law and Grace
There is one law—the law of cause and effect or karma, and through it we co-create by our thoughts, words, and actions. Grace, God’s love in action, saves us from the worst effects of our actions.
- Prayer and Meditation
Prayer is the means by which we establish conscious communion with God. Affirmative prayer changes our consciousness. Meditation helps us discern the “still small voice within.”
- Spiritual Practice and Action
We practice the truth principles one day at a time seven days a week. Service is the natural result.
