Daily Word and Affirmations
The Daily Word magazine was first published in July, 1924. It is now
published in 7 languages in 125 countries, most recently as an
experiment in a section of communist China! It contains a positive
affirmation that is jointly thought by hundreds of thousands of people
world-wide, as well as supporting paragraphs and verses. You can add to
the power of this growing collective consciousness by reading
(thinking) the Daily Word.
The Daily Word is available at Unity Temple, both in small type and
large type for $2.00 per issue. It is also available by
subscription. You can read today's Daily Word right now by clicking here.
Affirmations:
An affirmation is the assertion that something exists, or is true; a
statement or proposition that is declared to be true. Everyone thinks
hundreds of affirmations daily, consciously or
unconsciously. It is a thought, and therefore it is very powerful in determining our life's
experience.
We have the free will to choose the thoughts we think. Carefully
choosing our affirmations can work wonders in improving our lives.
Affirmations are best if they are short, simple thoughts.
Unity has been a proponent of positive thinking since its inception in
1889. Whatever we focus on, or think about the most, is vibrationally
attracted to us through the Law of Attraction. One way that we activate
what we want in our lives is by choosing the affirmations that we
concentrate on, especially when we are calm and centered, such as in
meditation.
Here are some examples of positive affirmations from the Daily Word, September 2011:
Inner Peace:
In the silence, I touch the presence of God within and find perfect peace.
Guidance: Spirit leads me on a level path to my highest good.
Healing: I am whole and well through the healing power of God within me.
Prosperity: I give generously and receive abundantly.
World Peace: Today I speak only words of peace
